The American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA) recently called upon TIG Global’s expertise to assist in recreating the social media portion of its website. With new social media tools developing each week and an overwhelming amount of information of varying quality already present online, AH&LA sought to outline a set of concrete tips and strategies for using social media tools to reach travelers successfully. They selected TIG Global from a host of other online marketing companies for their dedication to thought leadership and proven success in the field. See the new page here.
The new AH&LA social media page discusses the importance of staying attuned to social networking, because the information that consumers post online ultimately affects the overall brand perception of hotels. The revised site is organized into four educational sections: Facebook, Twitter, Traveler-Generated Content and Blogs/RSS Feeds. Each of these social networking sites offers tools which help market hotels effectively. The AH&LA site covers 5 tips for using each social networking tool. Some tips that TIG Global included on the website are:
-Make sure your Facebook page has a vanity URL so that consumers can easily find you via a clear and concise link.
-On Twitter, engage with your followers by using the social network for dialogues rather than monologues and see traffic increase as a result.
-When reading travel reviews about your brand, respond quickly to both negative and positive comments to maintain a positive brand perception.
-Create a blog for your hotel and use it to provide many links to other relevant stories or topics. This stimulates reciprocal linking which is good for search engine rankings.
To supplement the social media pages, TIG Global compiled an extensive resources page as well as a Social Media Buzzwords glossary. To learn more, visit the AH&LA social media page.
